Bio
Hadal Maw fast procured a benchmark stature for creating new and intense perspectives on heavy music. Emerging onto the Australian live metal scene in late 2012, they have moved from strength to strength touring consistently over two critically praised full length albums; Senium [2014] and OLM [2017] - developing a solid and committed fanbase while also sharing the stage with acts such as Decapitated, Suffocation, Thy Art is Murder, Beyond Creation, The Black Dahlia Murder, Aborted and many more. Their EP Charlatan [2018] saw them break into the international touring circuit, playing 11 countries across Europe in 2019 alongside renowned acts Aversions Crown, Psycroptic & Within Destruction as well as touring Australia supporting Archspire and Anaal Nathrakh respectively.
Their plans for 2020/21 were largely disrupted with the pandemic ruling out live shows and isolating members in different parts of the country. However, the band forged ahead welcoming drummer Liam Weedall (Dyssidia) into the fold, signing to Blighttown Records and recording their latest offering "Oblique Order" (31/12/2021). Mixed by John Douglass (The Contortionist, Nile) the four track EP sets a high new bar for the band in terms of production and song writing, expanding on their core elements of crushing atmosphere, grating dissonance and energy infused savagery. The title track features guest vocals from three of Australia’s most accomplished vocalists; Karina Utomo (High Tension), Luke Frizon (Growth) and Antony Oliver (Descent).
Currently Hadal Maw is preparing to tour throughout 2022 with the addition of Jarrod (Jed) Sorbian (Départe) on bass whilst work on their next full-length release continues.
